Homeowners Association Mailbox Plan

One of the more common inquires that the Homeowners Association receives has to do with the mailboxes, such as repair, painting, replacement, etc. Based on the age of our mailboxes, most are in need of replacement.

In an effort to provide continuity and create the most curb appeal for our neighborhood, the Board of Directors have voted to coordinate the repainting of all mailbox post and replace all boxes. This effort will be will be much more efficient and cost effective than each individual homeowner maintaining their own box. While this is a unique situation, in that each homeowner owns their box, the HOA is charged with the responsibility of maintaining the overall appearance of our neighborhood.

The process will work as follows:

  • Replace the box – in addition to rust and discoloration, the common issues have to do with broken flags and doors. The repairs are simply not cost effective. The boxes have a powder coat finish which is very labor intensive to properly prepare for painting. Repainting is not a long term solution.
  • Mailbox post – sand, prime and repaint
  • The HOA has accepted bids for the work and will coordinate the entire process
  • The cost will be as follows:
    • New mailbox, hand numbered and painting of post - $120.00

The HOA will pay the upfront cost of the project and upon completion; Crye-Leike will bill each homeowner directly. The only additional cost will be if your mailbox requires additional repair such as straightening or welding.

The project will be managed by a committee appointed by the Board of Directors. The committee members are:
